The Complete Pond Filtration Solution — Filter, UV and Media in One Box
Setting up an effective pond filtration system shouldn't require sourcing compatible components from multiple suppliers and hoping everything works together. Our Complete Pond Filter UV Set takes the guesswork out of pond filtration by delivering a matched, ready-to-install system that includes the filter unit, UV clarifier, and all necessary media. You add a pond pump of the right size (not included).
Six sizes cover ponds from 3,000 to 20,000 litres. Each model is rated for a maximum pond volume and comes with a recommended pump flow — for example 3,000 litres per hour on the 5,000-litre model and 4,700 litres per hour on the 9,000-litre model — sufficient to turn over the entire pond volume multiple times per day, which is the gold standard for biological filtration to function effectively.
The complete pond filter kit includes the following:
- Pressurised pond filter unit
- Integrated UVC clarifier (11W to 24W depending on size)
- Filter foams (number and grade vary by size)
- Stepped hosetail connectors (20mm to 32mm depending on model)
- Lid sealing O-ring
- Turn-to-clean handle that cleans the foams without opening the lid
- Instruction manual
Pump not included. Want the pump in the box too? See our Complete Pond Filter UV Set with Pump.

How the Three-Stage Filtration Works
Stage 1 — Mechanical: Water passes through foam media that physically traps solid waste, uneaten food, and debris.
Stage 2 — Biological: Beneficial bacteria colonise the filter foams and convert toxic ammonia into nitrite, then into the far less harmful nitrate through the nitrogen cycle.
Stage 3 — UV Sterilisation: Water passes through the UV clarifier where germicidal ultraviolet light destroys suspended algae cells — the cause of green water — clumping them so they can be caught by mechanical media.
Choosing the Right Size
Start with your pond volume: length x width x average depth in metres, multiplied by 1,000, gives litres. Pick the set whose rating is at or above that figure. If your pond is heavily stocked, sits in full sun or holds koi, go up one size — the rating is a maximum, and a filter working below its limit keeps water clearer between cleans. Then choose a pump that delivers roughly the recommended flow for that model once the height and length of hose are taken into account.
Installation Guide
- Position the filter beside or slightly above pond level
- Connect your pond pump (not included) to the filter inlet with suitable hose
- Connect the return hose from filter outlet back to the pond
- Fill with water, plug in, and verify flow through the system
- Allow 4–6 weeks for biological media to mature before testing water quality

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this set come with a pump?
No. This listing is the filter with its built-in UVC clarifier and foams. If you would rather have a matched pump and hose in the same box, choose the Complete Pond Filter UV Set with Pump instead.
How do I clean the filter?
Turn the handle on the lid. It works the foams inside so trapped dirt is flushed out through the cleaning outlet, without you lifting the lid or handling dirty foams. Most owners do this when the flow back to the pond drops.
