Large LDPE Pond and Lake Liner: 26 One-Piece Sizes from 16m x 10m to 50m x 40m
For wildlife lakes, farm and estate ponds, commercial landscaping and big garden waters, a single sheet with no field seams makes the job simpler. This listing covers the large end of our 3-ply LDPE range: 26 sizes from 16m x 10m to 50m x 40m. Each comes with a choice of 15, 25 or 40 year guarantee. The liner has a tightly woven low-density polyethylene core, laminated on both faces. The weave gives strength and flexibility; the lamination seals it and carries UV inhibitors.

Why it works on big jobs
Weight decides how you lay it
A large rubber sheet often needs machinery to move it. This liner is thinner and lighter for the same area, so a small crew can drag it into place by hand. That means fewer people on site and less risk of damage from plant tracking over it.
Rip-stop where it matters
The more liner there is, the more chances it has to pick up a nick on site. The woven core stops a small cut running into a split under the water load, so damage can be found and patched before filling.
One piece, fewer weak points
Every size is a single sheet, so there are no field joints to make or maintain across the bed of the lake.
Where it is used
Wildlife lakes and scrapes, farm and estate ponds, ornamental lakes, large formal water gardens, commercial and housing-development landscaping, and lined ponds on golf courses and country parks.

Choosing the right size and guarantee
Size: liner length = water length + (2 x max depth) + edge allowance; liner width = water width + (2 x max depth) + edge allowance. On large waters allow at least 0.5m each side for an anchor trench. Round up to the next size; sizes work either way round. The pond planner checks any shape.
Guarantee: the 25 year option costs about a quarter more than the 15 year, and the 40 year about half as much again. Relining a lake is expensive, so 40 years is the common choice for permanent water.
Installation, use and care
Grade the banks to a stable slope and remove stones and roots. Lay underlay over the whole area, double on stony ground. Unfold the sheet on the bank and pull it across from one side, keeping plant off the liner. Fill slowly and work out large folds as the water rises. Then backfill the anchor trench and finish the edge with soil, turf or stone. Keep the edge covered from direct sun.
Questions answered
How many people does it take to lay a large sheet?
It depends on the size and the ground. Because this liner is lighter than rubber of the same area, a 20m x 15m sheet can usually be pulled out by a crew of four to six, working from the deep end out with the sheet unfolded on the bank.
Which guarantee is best for a lake or estate pond?
All three are the same 3-ply liner sold with different guarantee periods. On a big lined water the cost of draining and relining is high, so the 40 year option is the usual choice. Use 25 years for most estate and farm ponds, and 15 years for temporary or trial schemes.
Is underlay included?
No. On large jobs the base is rarely stone-free, so lay an underlay over the whole area first, and use two layers on stony or rooty ground. Tick the underlay box above the basket button to add a covering sheet.
Do you sell smaller sizes?
Yes. Sizes from 2m x 2m to 15m x 15m are on our LDPE pond liner listing, with the same guarantees.
Ordering and delivery
Choose your size and guarantee above, and tick the underlay box if you need a covering sheet. Each liner is a single sheet supplied folded. Large sheets are heavy parcels, so please make sure there is access for delivery. Liners are made to the size you order, so check your measurements first.
