Complete Pond Filter UV Set — Crystal Clear Water for Ponds up to 20,000 Litres
Achieve consistently crystal-clear pond water with our Complete Pond Filter UV Set — a professionally engineered all-in-one filtration solution that combines UVC clarification, mechanical filtration, and biological filtration in one integrated system. Available for ponds from 3,000 to 20,000 litres, this comprehensive kit includes everything you need for a complete, professional-grade pond filtration system: the pressurised UVC filter, a matched submersible pump and the hose to connect them.
Already have a pump? Our Complete Pond Filter UV Set (pump not included) is the same filtration without the pump.

The Three-Stage Filtration System Explained
Stage 1: UVC Clarification
UV light exposure causes single-celled green algae (responsible for "pea soup" green water) to clump together, making them capturable by the mechanical filter. Within days, green water transforms to crystal clarity.
Stage 2: Mechanical Filtration
Foam stages capture suspended particles — algae clumps, fish waste, uneaten food, and fine debris. Turn the cleaning handle on the lid to flush trapped dirt out through the cleaning outlet; when flow drops noticeably, give the foams a full rinse in pond water (not tap water).
Stage 3: Biological Filtration
Beneficial bacteria colonise the filter foams, processing toxic ammonia into less harmful compounds through the nitrogen cycle — the foundation of fish health in any pond.
What's Included
- ✅ Pressurised filter with built-in UVC clarifier (11W to 24W, sized for chosen pond volume)
- ✅ Combined mechanical and biological filter foams
- ✅ Submersible pond pump matched to the filter (2,300 to 12,000 L/h)
- ✅ Pond hose to connect pump and filter (plus hose clips on the 12,000L, 15,000L and 20,000L sets)
Which Size Do I Need?
-
3,000L Set: Small patio and wildlife ponds up to 3,000 litres
-
5,000L Set: Garden ponds up to 5,000 litres, light to moderate stocking
-
9,000L Set: Medium ponds up to 9,000 litres or heavily stocked smaller ponds
-
12,000L Set: Larger family garden ponds up to 12,000 litres
-
15,000L Set: Large koi ponds up to 15,000 litres — professional setup
-
20,000L Set: The largest set, for ponds up to 20,000 litres
For heavily stocked koi ponds, always size up — better filtration capacity equals healthier fish.
To work out your volume, multiply length x width x average depth in metres by 1,000 to get litres, or use our pond planner. Pick the set rated at or above that figure; if the pond is in full sun, holds koi or has a lot of fish for its size, choose the next size up.
Installation & Care
Stand the filter on firm, level ground beside the pond — it can be partly buried and planted around as long as the lid, cleaning handle and UVC stay accessible and dry. Place the pump on a raised, level spot in the pond so it is not sitting in sludge, run the hose from the pump to the filter inlet, and route the return from the filter outlet back to the pond, ideally at the far end so water circulates. Plug the filter and pump into a suitable outdoor supply protected by an RCD. Expect four to six weeks for the bacteria in the foams to establish, and avoid washing the foams in tap water, which kills them.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is everything I need in the box?
The filter, pump and connecting hose are included, so you can set the system up without buying extra parts. You will need an outdoor electrical supply for the pump and the UVC.
What is the difference between this and the pump-not-included set?
The filtration is the same; this set adds a pump sized to suit each filter, plus hose. If you already own a suitable pump, the pump-not-included set costs less.
How often should I clean it?
Turn the cleaning handle whenever the return flow slows. A full foam rinse in pond water is only needed occasionally, and the UVC bulb is usually replaced each spring.
